Fr. Stephen Silverthorne
Stephen has been Minister in Charge of Good Shepherd since March 2014. He comes to us after having served for 12 years in the Cornwall area.
Stephen studied at Wycliffe College in Toronto where he obtained his Master of Divinity degree and was ordained shortly after in the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa. Before that, he received a B.Sc. in Microbiology (U.B.C.), a Master of Christian Studies at Regent College (Vancouver) and tried out law school for a year (Ottawa U.). This turned out not to be his calling.
Instead, Fr. Stephen enjoys being a minister. He is particularly committed to the ministry of preaching and teaching. He is married to Tabea and the proud father of four little girls. He enjoys home-brewing, the Chicago Cubs and deer hunting.
As Minister in Charge, he oversees most of the day-to-day operation of the church, but is directed and advised by the people of the congregation. His duties include visiting the sick, leading worship services, and evangelism.
